| "That's very kind of you." Jewel replied. "Although, speaking for myself, I only carry incorporeal money which I can't imagine being of use. However, I certainly hope we can help Rose." |

Dr. Odom had been content to remain quiet for the moment since he could think of nothing useful to contribute, but suddenly he yanked his notebook from his pocket and opened it to hes map.
"Perhaps you would be kind enough to tell us which patch is yours, Ma'am? Any information you could provide about any of the other patches would be very much appreciated, too." |

| Jewel nodded. She wished she had thought to ask Kao Sheng that same question. |

"My place is the Rag and Bone shop," Yarrow said with a final puff on her cigarette before stubbing it out on the handle of her trolly. Tucking the butt into one of her black bags she went on. "It's gotta sort of pawnbroker's ball thing outside and it's in a bit of city that's due north from here right now, just past Aldersley Manor."
"As for the other patches, well you've seen the map... ain't you? You know how many there are and stuff like that. What else do you want to know?" She shrugged. "Only people who like cats can get through the gate in the Territory. The Dark Towers blows up anything new-fangled with great balls of fire... The Red Fort army isn't very keen on priests. Oh, and if you're up to anything strange you should try to avoid the folks in Hareton." |

Increasingly bewildered, Dr. Odom managed to add "Rag + Bone Shp" and "Aldersly Mnr" to his map before frantically scribbling notes about the rest on the back of what was left of the previous page. All in all, it was better than he had hoped for.
"Thank you, Ma'am. I'm sure we'll do our best for Miss Briar." Dr. Odom studied the abandoned vehicle. "Are you planning on leaving that here for now? Would you like some help with that cart as long as we're going in the same direction?" |

"Oh, I'll walk with you a ways," Yarrow said. "I want to speak to Rose meself."
"And yup, I think I'll forget about air travel for a bit..." She looked a bit queasy as she glanced back at the remains of the Skayak.
[ooc: I thought we were already walking...] |

| "What's up there?" Dr Jewel gestured, rather needlessly, to the floating structure as the group marched along. "Is that the palace of this city?" |

"No, not a palace," Yarrow said with a grumpy edge in her voice, as if she was beginning to regret being helpful. "A school, sort of thing."
"So..." she flicked a sidelong glance at Dr Jewel. "What do you reckon to the reincarnation question then? Are you like our friend the priest here, not wantin' to think about it?" |

"I guess I like the idea. Although I currently seem to hold an exemption ticket. Coming back as a ghost each time would be better than nothing though. Do I have any chance of coming back as a human?"
Jewel already had ideas about what the answer to her question could be.
"In terms of whether or not it could happen, I think I've been convinced that it did. Fortunately." |

"There's always a chance," Yarrow shrugged. "A loophole, a technical'ty, something like that. When you ain't got a feather to fly with something always comes along." She smirked.
Ahead of the group, the mist veil to the north was coming closer and Yarrow glanced from it to the other western mists.
"Which you do you folks want to go then?" she asked. "Through Jones' or Aldersley?" |

"I'd like to take the Aldersley route, because I haven't been there before."
Jewel looked from Dr Odom to Father Michael. Then she glanced down at Pietro.
"What do you think?" |

| Dr. Odom looked up from scratching "Aldrsly" into his map and said, "Yes, I think I would prefer Aldersley. Fill in gaps in our knowledge with first-hand experience." |

"Fine by me," Yarrow agreed. "I'd like a word or two with Lady Kingsley while we're there, though. There's a feller who's got everything back to front who could do with gettign his head straightened out."
"Shouldn't take long though," she added optimistically. |
