Motoring quietly onto the roads of Aldersley, from the eastern mist wall, came an astounding sight. It appeared to be something akin to a horseless carriage, though in size and weight it was closer to one of the new fangled steam lorries. It was painted in a fine black and blue livery, and was curved and streamlined like one of the more modern locomotives. Indeed, it appeared very much as if it were a steam conveyance designed for speed.
However, there were no land speed records being broken today. The thing was doing a stately ten miles per hour along the country roads.

In the driving seat, Kirby was doing his best to seem innocuous. He figured that so long as the jeep wasn't going *too* fast, then he could pass it off as a prototype invention from America. |

Oddly enough, no-one seemed to even notice Kirby's passing. At the sound of the truck, workers looked up, shook their heads then carried on with whatever it was they were doing. Usually with their backs to the road. This didn't really seem like a deliberate snub - it was just that whatever they happened to be doing seemed to require them to look away from the road for a time.
Kirby was lucky in that the area of the forest he'd entered Aldersley in wasn't particularly dense in trees, thus he'd been able to wind his way to the dirt track with only minor damage to the surrounding environment. He could hear the hunt horn somewhere in the distance, but the road itself was quite deserted. Except for a familiar looking small grey kitten, who, if he was the same kitten as earlier, still wasn't paying any attention to Kirby but seemed to be fully engaged with the task of chasing a yellowish butterfly. |

Kirby relaxed, and decided to enjoy a ride in the country for once. Even he wasn't sure when and where the country was.
The road was heading north, so he decided to follow it and head for the northern discontinuity.
When he arrived there, it was as blank and featureless as the ones to the north and east of Empire. He scribbled a few notes down in a notepad, and added a No Entry sign to his map. He wondered if this were the top edge of the map. And what that meant, cosmically.
That left west. He backed the jeep up, and drove back to a lane heading west. |

[OOC: I'm back now. If I could post-date the previous to the date of this post, and carry on? I assume that Aldersley is as indifferent to Kirby as ever.]
Kirby continued along the country road until he reached the predicted western discontinuity. He drove on through.
