[ooc: From Mausoleum: 'The Flight of the Blue Wizard']
Snark Sinistre, wizard and loremaster, flew out of the western mists. His speed slowed as he saw what lay before him, the grey streets below and the kaleidoscopic shimmer of the coloured sky ahead.
This should be the domain of a skilled wizard, but Snark sensed little magic in the aether. With a frown, he set his course towards the only building of note: the clock tower. |

| The aerials on the rooftops and the presence of the clocktower suggested a certain amount of technology in this world, but Snark was pleased to see that the clock didn't actually seem to be working. |

Snark came into land at the base of the tower. The door was shut and he sensed no presence of a guardian on the astral plane or any sign of a physical one. He was beginning to doubt that this was a wizard's castle at all.
Nonetheless he rapped three times with his staff on the door and declared:
"I am Snark Sinistre. Master of the Cold Flame. Wizard of the Dark Towers. If any be within these doors come out and speak with me."
He waited, impatiently. |

| The door made no reply. Indeed, on closer inspection, the door's hinges looked considerably rusty and obviously hadn't been used in quite some time. |

This place was a waste of his time, Snark decided. Or wait...
His eye had alighted on a brass arrow fixed to the base of the clock tower and pointing north. He stared at the arrow, trying to ponder its meaning.
Was the denizen of this demesne to be found to the north? Was it a device placed to indicate the best direction of travel or some fatal danger?
Whatever it meant, it posed a challenge and Smight was not a wizard who passed up such a test. Rising into the air once more he sped northwards towards the mist.

Confident that the man noises had stopped, a small snout pushed its way through the hole in the base of the door.
sniff sniff. not normal man. different to normal man. doesn't bring food.
Tiny footsteps scampered back into the tower.
