From the mists to the south of Glade hurries a small, Oriental-looking man in a drab grey uniform. He is carrying a bucket in one hand and a mop in the other, and appears somewhat flustered.
His entry into the Glade had been somewhat precipitate, bearing an uncanny similarity to someone being forcibly ejected after causing an affray. But anyone less likely to try a spot of fisticuffs would have been hard to imagine.
As he looks around his new surroundings, it becomes clear to him that this wilderness is a veritable cornucopia of weird and wonderful animal life. He heaves a sigh from somewhere deep inside him.
"Great, just great! I wonder if the others realise just how much extra work this is going to mean for us?"

After a couple of hours of reconnaissance and notetaking, Daltrey was ready to return to the Zoo with his findings. But as he neared the misty barrier at the edge of Glade, the same inexplicable fear that he'd felt earlier flooded through him. Despite being fully aware of the savage punishments Trubshawe would inflict for dereliction of duty, he found himself unable to move another step.
This was bad. Very bad.
"Er, help?" he yelled into the mists. "Can anybody hear me?" |

A man in sturdy grey clothes emerged from the mists. He greeted the distressed Daltrey.
"Ah, excuse me, you seem to be having some difficulties. I suggest that you follow me, as this place may become rather inconvenient shortly."
The man in grey gestured towards the east. |

"Thank... thank heavens," said Daltrey haltingly, as though he had grown unused to human language. "I thought I would be alone in this forsaken wilderness till the end of my days."
Time had passed more quickly in Glade than outside of it, and Daltrey now sported a straggly beard and wild expression. He was clad in a crudely made cap, knee-length breeches and moccasins, all fashioned out of something similar to goatskin that he'd been able to procure locally. A little way off, an incompetently lashed-together treehouse showed how the Assistant Zookeeper had sheltered from the elements during his ordeal.
"What day of the week is it?" pondered Daltrey to himself as much as the Janitor. He began counting them off on his fingers, but seemed to become confused and dispirited quite quickly. "I'm fairly sure it isn't the weekend. I shall call you Weekday."
He seemed quite docile and happy to be led away to the east. |

The man in grey lead the increasingly incoherent assistant zookeeper through the shifting lands towards the east.
Eventually they reached the mistly barrier and the man in grey stopped to wait for Daltrey.
"If you would follow me, it should be just a little further to your zoo."
He took Daltrey by the arm, and lead him into the mist.
[OOC: both have now left Glade, and entered Kerya.] |
