Larkin thought on his feet and then scurried away after the back of the Captain and the merchant. Larkin spat as he ran, if there was one thing he hated it was merchants. Untrustworthy, lying, backstabbing scum they were, at least you could trust Larkin even if it was to just rob you of all your goods.
Catching up with the group he jogged to get alongside the captain before saying "Well, errr, Captain DeRainhault was it? Beautiful name, beautiful name, you, err, mentioned a meal before did you? Well, err, I would be really appy to accept yer in, err, invitation an dont worry I only use me knife on people who really deserve it, alright? An, an, an I'll really fink bout joinin that Majestys fing yer said fanks. We'd be havin this meal on that boat thing yeah? Very kind of yer ter offer an everyfin."
Larkin grinned then backed off a little from the Captain before she could say no. He had dealt with Officers before and found them to be a little temperamental around him and he had lost the few food supplies he had had on him.
Nudging Captain MacFarlane as he walked he said "So, err, she yer bird then aye?" |

| At this comment, Captain MacFarlane colored visibly. “No! I mean, no she’s the Captain of the ship.” Gesturing to the HMS Justice where it loomed on the horizon, he added in a lower voice, “And listen, man, don’t be making comments of that sort, if you know what’s good for ye. DeRainault is even-handed, but she’s quick to take offense from *those* sorts of comments. Not to mention that she’s a crack shot and deadly with a blade – everything you’d expect from a Bride of St. Vincent.” MacFarlane’s voice grew conspiratorial. “Why, I heard she castrated a Spaniard once, for assaulting one of her Lieutenants. Mind you, he was a pirate… Anyway, watch your tongue, lad.” Then, they were at the boat. |

Liason appraised the HMS Justice and nodded approvingly.
"This is the most formidable sea vessel I have ever seen with my own eyes. If I am not mistaken, it is a metal battleship ? Fascinating !"
Once all present were safely aboard, Liason became intrigued by the origins of the craft. He almost began to ask questions again, but decided that he would wait for their meal to begin. |
