Attendant, seeing his cue, stepped in and led Lady Violetta back to the entrance hall.
The horse seemed a bit nervous, so Attendant gave it a wide berth as he swung the doors open. He was relieved to discover there wasn't a mob waiting to rush them.
Attendant and Assistant stood at the base of the steps and waved goodbye to Lady Violetta. A strange sort of customer... but then that was the only sort who ever seemed to turn up. |

| Lady Violetta waved goodbye to the Attendant and mounted her horse. "What a charming person," she thought. "I suppose I should have asked him what his name was though. Oh well, never mind. I imagine I'll never see him again anyway. Fancy thinking I was a customer though. I'm sure I don't look like the kind of person who would require the services of a Foundry. I suppose the suffrage movement must have made great strides in ... well, whereever I am exactly. I should have asked him that too. You always think of these things when it's too late. I'd have liked to have a closer look at those automatons too - they looked very interesting, but they seem to have gone. Pity." Musing to herself, she rode westward and into the mists once more. |
