The Captain sighed, tossed down the last of the wine, and stood, subtly signalling to her men as she did. "But now is not the time to be speaking of philosophy, and I believe I should be making my way back to my ship, as I wish to consult with my officers, and I hope to be receiving a report from my Doctor and Lieutenant as well. My thanks again, Mr. Jones." The Captain offered her hand in a gesture of friendship. "I hope we will meet again soon."

"Good day and good luck to you," Jones said, standing and shaking the Captain's hand in a firm grip. "I'm sure we'll meet again."

Gesturing to the door that led back into the Public Bar, he indicated the the Captain should precede him out.

The Captain tucked away the diagram and pencil in a pocket of her uniform jacket. Picking up her hat, she nodded and followed Jones out into the public bar. Brewer, Simpson and Habbakuk, who had quickly downed the last of their beer on the Captain's signal, each put down their tankard on the bar and followed the pair out of the room.
