"No, I haven't heard of Peerblind, I'm afraid." Jewel lowered her voice. "But then I hadn't heard of the Museum either, which Dr Odom seems to find rather unbelievable."
She gave Larkin a sharp look. She wondered what to say about the curse. Wondered what his reaction would be.
"The full effects of the curse were rather more... permanent." She began. "You see, I'm no longer... to get to the point, I'm a ghost." |

"A ghost!" Larkin raised an eyebrow. "As in yer dead?" Larkin gave a short laugh and said "Well if thats what bein dead is like, maybe it aint as bad as everyone says." They were approaching the mist now and through it could be seen a large building.
"Wait a minute." Larkin began "If your dead and a ghost how come yer still here an aint off hauntin some place? Like that village yer said?" |

"I don't know." Dr Jewel shrugged looking up at the mist. She was relieved to see a wall beyond.
"Haunting doesn't seem to be obligatory." She continued. "Although I do wonder if I'm suppose to somehow solve the curse we excavated to stop being a ghost. That is the angle that Dr Odom has been helping me with."
She looked from Odom to Quickgrip.
"This looks promising." She said, gesturing to the mist. "Shall we go through?" |

Dr. Odom hesitated for just a moment to give the mist an untrusting glare, as if daring it to disappoint him again. Still, this wall of mist looked much more like the one he remembered, like the mist hugged an enormous wall rather than standing freely in the air.
The hesitation over, he plunged through.
