The pirates reached the dark mist that marked the edge of the Map Room patch and the beginning of Jones'. Magpie hadn't crossed a bopundary before, and neither had any of his crew, but it seemed straightforward enough. Unfortunately the dark mist turned into a dark night as they kept walking.
"Strange", noted Magpie and insisted they all track back and forth a couple of times - sure enough, back through the mist it was still daylight but on the new side it was dark.
He sat and thought for a while whilst a light was made, but came to no useful conclusion beyond the thought it was most definitely time for a drink now.
Lamplight guided them to the welcoming sign of the Public House but none shone within to welcome them further. |

Despite the fact that night had fallen on the other side of the mist, the three travelers had little problem finding their way along the broad road that led to Jones' Public House. Starlight and moonlight provided ample illumination for eyes used to keeping watch at sea; moreover, Captain De Rainault and Habbakuk had come this way earlier.
Regarding the small pocket compass in her hand, the Captain mused. "I fear traditional directions and naviagation will not work in this place. When we came to the map room earlier in the day, we were traveling from west to east, and now to return there, we take the same tack, rather than the reverse. I fear if one were to become lost, it would be a difficult matter to find the way back."
"Indeed, my dear, it is all most curious. I wonder if each patch, as it were, has a different orientation for magnetic north? It might be worth noting. In any case, so long as we have our map and your compass, we might at least find our way. I see, however, that our buccaneer associates have proceeded us -" The Doctor gestured to the road ahead, where the glow of lantens showed the pirate crew gathered at the entrance to the public bar. "Oh dear. I do hope they won't cause a ruckus."
"Hmm - it might be best to wait a while - or, better yet, we could perhaps find another way into the establisment?" Ever competitive, the Captain reflected on what a good jest it would be for Magpie and his rabble to make their way into the bar at last, only to find that she had preceded them, despite having left the map room long after they. A slow smile crept across DeRainault's face. "I have an excellent idea." So saying, she led Domenova and Habbakuk off the road, and across the near field, quietly skirting the edge of the building until she came to the gardens.

| As they approached the pub under cover of darkness the pirates heard a voice slam open a door and shout something at the back of the building. |
