Juniper Jones had been given one last task by her father-in-law as she prepared to leave the pub that evening. Her husband, Jack had left ten minutes before, expecting her to catch him up. But at least this wouldn't take long.
Letting herself into a room on the second floor which a brass plaque proclaimed was The Green Room, Juniper carried in a pile of fresh linen. With the ease of long practice she made up the bed swiftly. It was a double bed and the green room had a pleasant aspect, the one drawback being its window that opened over the main entrance. Customers arriving early or leaving late might disturb the occupant, but Juniper supposed her father-in-law knew what would best suit their visitor.
Her name was Arnora and Jones had described her as a elfin maiden. Juniper wondered if she were much like Rose Briar, the only friend she had in the quilt aside from the Jones clan. Rose Briar stayed in this room when she visited and Juniper had designed the decoration to please her. Unlike the garish yellows of the room next door, the furniture and furnishing were a muted murmur of mingled verdure and softened further with warm earth tones, the walls papered with Juniper's own drawings of leaves.
With the lamps lit, the room looked inviting, that is to anyone who didn't suffer from agoraphobia or find the impression of sleeping on the forest floor unpleasant. Remembering her father-in-law's instructions, Juniper carefully placed a carafe of water and a glass tumbler by the beside table and felt a pang of sorrow.
Rose Briar always wished for water as well. How long it had been since she'd seen the rose maiden or any customer had brought news of her.
"Perhaps tomorrow," Juniper thought, speaking the words softly, as the looked through the open window at the road to the pub.

Arnora smiled as she entered the room. The room was well chosen for her. she wondered who had decorated it and whose room it usually was.
She removed her outer robes and slept until dawn was visible through the window. |

Arnora's window faced out to the front of the pub and as she surfaced from sleep it was to the sound of voices talking outside.
"Is it not rightly said that in agreeable company a day can pass in but the blink of an eye? O honourable sir, please allow this humble traveller to suggest that we pass within this fine establishment, where you may find refreshment, or even perhaps an answer to some of your questions."
Only one person expressed themselves in so polite and yet tortuous a fashion. It must surely be Kao Sheng escorting another traveller to the pub.
[ooc note: Arnora is overhearing the conversation in the 'Where's my Hat' thread, currently taking place outside the main doors of the public bar.] |

She considered the voices as she woke, one of them she recognised but the other was someone new. There were still people she should talk to before leaving the tavern.
After some moments contemplating what exactly it was she needed from these people, Arnora rose, dressed and headed down the stairs.
[OOC Arnora leaves the green room and heads for the public bar] |
