At length Trubshawe arrived at the door to the public bar. His boots were caked with mud and he felt thoroughly dispirited: it had been a long and far from satisfactory day.
He tried the handle. The door appeared to be stuck. Trubshawe turned the handle back and forth with increasing violence, causing the door to rattle alarmingly on its hinges, for the better part of a minute, before he noticed the message pinned just in front of his eyes:
Jones' Public House is closed for renovations. We apologise for the inconvenience. Visitors for the Jones Family or Dr Domenova should enquire at Old Cottage, to the northwest.
- The Proprietor
"Hmph!" said Trubshawe, not for the first time that hour. So that's the way it was, was it? Not content with storming off in a huff, Jones had locked up house and drawn the curtains so no one could intrude upon his sulk as well. That insufferable peon! Well, if he thought he could get away with insulting people like this scot free he was very wrong: a nasty little plan had recently begun to hatch in the Head Zookeeper's mind...
In the absence of having anything to gain from lingering in this miserable place any longer, Trubshawe turned back to the West and the rope bridge to the Zoo.
[OOC: unless anyone or anything intercepts him in the near future, Trubshawe will eventually leave Jones' and arrive back at the Zoo.] |

For one terrible moment, Trubshawe was convinced that the shape looming above him was another dragon, and that the sensation of turning into a blazing pillar of fire was the last he would ever know.
Blinking furiously, he realised that what was in the sky above him was in fact some sort of airship. "Dawksamercy!" he growled. "Whose is that?" |

| Someone or something was following Trubshawe. Silently, a large dirigible followed him. Trubshawe was largely oblivious, until something blotted out the sun, directly above him... |

A hatch slid open in the dirigible's belly, and a rope ladder tumbled out. Trubshawe's frown deepened as, a few moments later, what appeared to be a monkey began to descend the ladder. No, not a monkey, just an exceedingly dirty boy...
The urchin, once within shouting range of Trubshawe, yelled down to him:
"Trubshawe, is it? Assistant Zookeeper's Assistant Specks reportin' for duty. But first things first, Daltrey says why don'tcher come aboard?"
The lad began to disappear upwards again and, baffled as to what Daltrey thought he was doing riding around in a zeppelin when he was meant to be watching the Zoo, Trubshawe set his hands to the rope ladder and began to climb. |
