The Kirby Rover entered from the mists to the north. Finding himself on fields, Kirby stopped the recorders, and quickly headed for the country lane that ran north-south.

The pub in the distance was the obvious landmark, so Kirby made for there. On reaching the pub, Kirby got out, only to find the sign directing visitors to the cottages. Kirby returned to the rover.

"It appears that this domain is inhabited, and that the inhabitants may be found to the cottages in that direction. Yes, look, that cottage over there has smoke coming from its chimney."

Kirby turned the rover, and headed off in that direction.

"So," remarked Kirby "You never told me where you are from."

[OOC: All this presuming that Yaroslav has no objection, I thought we may as well get to some other characters!]

All the way through the rose garden Yaroslav remained quiet and thoughtful. In truth, all this machinery fascinated and scared him in equal measure, but figuring out its purpose was far beyond him, even though he dedicated most of his thought to it.

When approaching the southern wall of mist, however he grew fidgety and anxious. He suddenly remembered the arrow. “No matter how hard I tried to avoid it I still ended up following it” he thought, grimly.

Faced with Kirby’s question Yaroslav simply chose to ignore it. He was determined to tell people the least possible amount of information regarding himself and the forest. Instead he tried to appear thoughtful and stared intently at the countryside around him. The public house particularly attracted his attention. Even from a distance it seemed that it had taken quite a bit of damage quite recently. Looking around, Yaroslav found more signs of trouble: burned grass, uprooted plants, even what seemed to be a rotting corpse of strange animal, although the rover was too far away for him to be sure of this.

“It looks like we should be careful here” Yaroslav remarked after a long silence, pointing at the damage. “The place does not look all that friendly”. He, yet again, thought of the brass arrow.

Kirby noticed that the man avoided his question. Might he have something to hide? Might he be responsible in some way for all this? Kirby made a mental note to make a thorough investigation of the region west of the rose garden at some point.

Since Yaroslav was so unforthcoming, the pair lapsed into an uneasy silence. Kirby didn't know whether Yaroslav was untrustworthy, or whether it was he himself who was being found untrustworthy. Either way, it made for an uncomfortable atmosphere.

Presently, the rover approached the cottages, and Kirby was relieved to get out of the rover, and knock on the door.
