From the mists to the East strode the tall, spindly form of Ambassador Liason of the Imperial Foundry. Although his long strides carried him swiftly down the road, he had a relaxed air about him. For once, Liason was not in a particular hurry.

Looking around himself at the blue sky and lush green landscape, the Ambassador smiled. He had never seen the orchards of the Western provinces with his own eyes, but this place was how he imagined them to be. The buildings he could see showed no signs of fortification, but were well constructed from modern materials.

Deciding he could afford a little time for pleasure, Liason stopped beneath the wide branches of an old tree and sat down on the grass to meditate a while.
