When the villagers had surrounded her Petra had frozen. The lizard men, with their strange appearance and wicked-looking spears had closed in around her, hoping to illicit some response from this stranger, but after some time has passed they were beginning to wonder if she was even capable of speech.
It seemed that the young girl had fallen unconscious.
(OOC: Petra should now be considered to be incapable of response. This means the lizardmen are free to move her, attempt to revive her or act as they feel appropriately under the circumstances. - The GMs) |

The two burly hunters who had run up to Petra poked her gently with the butts of their spears. When she failed to respond, the other villagers gathered closer, the children hurrying to the front of the crowd. One particularly brave child came up behind one of the hunters and touched Petra's arm briefly before darting back.
The villagers were whispering to each other nervously about pale ghosts and forest spirits, so naturally the shaman was sent for. Soon he came out of his hut, an old man, bent and blinking, with arcane symbols painted on his scales, amulets and strings of teeth around his neck, and an orange butterfly perched on his left ear.
Mumbling, he prodded Petra with a stick. He sniffed at her and looked thoughtful for a few moments. Then he nodded. "This is a visitor from the spirit world, and she needs privacy to regain her strength. I smell no evil on her. Lift her carefully, and take her to my hut. See that bowls of water and fruit are put beside her. Meanwhile, I will go up the mountain."
As the hunters laid down their spears to pick Petra up, the butterfly fluttered away. |
