His blue robes flapped about him and his staff was gripped tightly in his right hand. He was encased in a sphere of glowing blue light. His name was Snark Sinistre and he was in a bad mood.

Lush rainforest and a race of straw-hut dwellers held no interest for him. Of rather more was the magical ambiance he sensed in the air about him and he spoke words aloud in the secret language to summon any higher beings to his presence. None responded and Snark flew on, over the lizard village and heading to the east.
