From the mists at the southern border of the patch a small party came into view - a man, a woman, a priest and a small black cat.

"I see this is still the Map Room patch. That's a hopeful sign for our travels."

Jewel lead the way to the Map itself.

"Well. I'm glad we stopped by."

Dr. Odom squeezed extra patches in around the edge of his map and made a couple of changes. For a little while the scratching of his pen was the only sound he made. Then he put away pen, map and glasses.

"Do we pass the school again or do we see this castle in the air?"

"I would like to see the castle in the air." Jewel made a few scribbles on her own map, then tucked the notebook back into a side pocket of her bag. "We can peer in through the mist wall to check that the place is safe enough to step out into."

Michael peered at the Map himself and once again committed its shape to memory.

"I too would be delighted to see the castle in the air. Do lead on!"

Squaring his shoulders (as well as he could, knowing there was an awful lot of emptiness overhead once he should step outside), Dr. Odom started walking briskly toward the east before being redirected by his companions. After that he chose to lead from the rear and they approached the northern mist after a pleasant walk.

Jewel stepped into the mist.

With an undignified squawk Dr. Odom lunged through the mist. He hoped that if Dr. Jewel had turned into anything he would at least see in what direction she had gone.
