Larkin had been skulking northwards towards the mist, having just parted company with Karl and the others. He was gentley muttering under his breath about people not taking "glarin oppatunitees" when quite unexpectedly a wizard dropped out of the sky and landed with a mighty crash on the building next to him, spraying masonry everywhere and Larkin swore he heard a whoop of victory, although he couldn't quite hear where it had come from, before he dove to the ground.

Having been lucky enough not to be hit any of the flying rock Larkin quickly scrambled up the side of the demolished and crumbling room, using various rocks as footholds, to find the very much unconscious Snark lying flat out across the roof. This didn't interest Larkin nearly as much as the very large and above-all valuable looking staff with a strange blue gem affixed to the top.

A wide grin spread across the thiefs face as he scooped up the staff and only halting for a second to briefly check the wizard for any other major valuables before clambering back down off the roof (a little awkwardly thanks to the staff that formerly belonged to the wizard) and continuing on his journey North, now feeling much more pleased with himself.

Larkin was now steadily striding northwards towards the mist. He could just about see that it was the same place they had come through earlier with the large floating island.

Larkin personally made a decision that after he had seen Yarrow he was going to check if there was any more jobs, and if not he was going to go sight-seeing.

Eventually, new staff in hand, Larkin reached the northern-most part of the mist and stepped through once again into the Academy.
