(Abigail has come from "The Light at the End of the Tunnel")
Abigail marched through the departures halls, looking for a sign that would tell her where to go. Soon she saw a corridor with a picture of a large, stripy balloon over its entrance, and headed that way.
The signs led her up and down moving stairs, through zigzagging corridors and along moving walkways. Abigail liked the moving walkways and of course she ran along them, looking like a vaguely Abigail-coloured blur.
Just when she felt she'd been walking for miles, the corridor ended in a pair of sliding doors and she was outside, on a flat stretch of concrete marked with thick white lines, numbers and arrows. Huge balloons in all colours of the rainbow with baskets beneath them bobbed at anchor, and beyond them, tethered to the ground by strong ropes, hung a great big blue-striped airship.
Beyond the airship - she squinted - she thought she could make out another wall of mist. |

"Cool!" said Abigail, looking around at all the balloons.
She turned her attention to the letterplane. "OK. D'you remember who you're looking for?"
"Jessamin and Jonathan Jones!" it cried.
"Good!" said Abigail. "Off you go then!" She threw the letterplane off towards the distant wall of mist. As soon as it was free of her hand, its propeller started to whir, and it was soon flying under its own power, tipping the propeller this way and that to weave between the coloured balloons.
Abigail watched it until all she could see was a far away pinprick, and then it disappeared into the mist and the distance, and she turned her attention to her own journey. _________________ That's all folks! |

Flying for the first time, the letterplane smiled broadly to itself, and spun and dove more than was strictly necessary, for the simple joy of flight. The part of it that was not caught up in the feel of the air currents was repeating Abigail's instructions over and over:
Jessamin and Jonathan Jones. They live in a pub. Ask people if they know where Jessamin and Jonathan are. Stay out of reach of people until you find the right ones.
The letterplane's mission was clear, but, like all Toons, it discharged its duty with proper attention to the sheer fun of its being. _________________ That's all folks! |

| Weaving between the balloons, Abigail trotted over to the airship. In its cabin, hovering a few feet off the ground, sat a bald man with a comically curly moustache, his feet up on the dashboard, reading a newspaper. He glanced down at his prospective passenger. "You for the Blue, then?" he asked affably. "Hop on in and I'll fire her up." |

"Yes please!" said Abigail, climbing up into the airship, and looking around eagerly.
"When are we leaving? How long does it take? What's Endless Blue like?" There were millions of questions she wanted to ask, but she stopped at three for the time being. _________________ That's all folks! |

"Hrrrmph. Well, it's not the most popular route," the airship driver said, "though heaven knows why - who doesn't like flying? I don't know, some people... Anyhow, the upshot of that is you're probably the only passenger. So now, I reckon."
He leaned out the window and shouted "Chocks away!" Two people in bright yellow jackets appeared from among the balloons and began to untie the ropes one by one.
"And in answer to your other questions, that depends on where it is at the moment and where we are at the moment, and it's quite blue, but it's not endless, not as such, it's about ten miles square. There you go."
The driver did arcane things with throttles and joysticks, and the airship's engines roared as more hot air flowed into its body. The yellow-jacketed people waved as the ground dropped away. For a moment Abigail had a bird's eye view of Terminus - wings and blocks radiating from the main body of the building like spider legs, a glint of water, sundry vehicles crawling like beetles. Then they passed into the wall of mist to the west.
(OOC: Abigail and airship move to the Blue, thread "A Sound of Engines") |

Meanwhile the paper aeroplane travelled on the whirling air-currents until it reached the northern mists. The speed of the propellers slowed as it reached the boundary.
But just then a gust of air caught the toon and threw it into the mist.
