Even immaculate towns have to store the rubbish somewhere. In the Territory there was a fenced off enclosure with large anonymous shiny black plastic tubs and carefully placed cat sized flaps. In one corner of the enclosure there was also a small area with loose items which would have been called messy if there wasn't this strange feeling that it had all been placed. Damaged car headlights arranged to light a central clearing, boxes lying on their sides with flaps out of the way. A large tyre lay on its side in the centre of the clearing with a board lying across the central hole.
A small neat black cat with white socks wandered into the clearing and the strolled around the edges. He occasionally flattened his ears out the way and stuck his head into one of the boxes and then slid it out again without ruffling even so much as a whisker out of place. After a complete circuit at a seemingly random point the cat leapt up to a nicely placed broken television and slid through a gap in the fence.
Moments later a leek pointy orange coloured cat rather casually wandered into the clearing. This in itself wouldn't have attracted much notice but as it was the cat had just appeared through the sides of one of the black bins without apparently using one of the flaps. It wandered over to the tyre in the centre, stretched and then sat down with the tail curled around in front.
Moments later the black and white cat reappeared from through the fence on the other side of the clearing and hopped down with his tail forming a neat arc keeping it out of harms way. He walked briskly over to the centre of the clearing and sat in front of the tyre. There was an exchange of bobbing head movements, twitching whiskers and then a brief stillness.
The ginger cat stood up and wandered off out the clearing heading due west which took it straight through one of the fence posts and into the side of neighbouring warehouse.
The black and white cat took the place in the centre of the tyre and settled down for a nap. |

After a remarkably straight journey through the streets the ginger cat approached the outer wall of the territory. It stopped in front of the wall briefly and flicked its ears, turning them like satellite dishes and then stepped forward through the wall...
