OOC: Yaroslav arrives from "Further signs of times" thread

Taking one of the longer paths Yaroslav approached the lake from the south. That way he could get the best view of the clear area around the lake without being seen. It was most likely, of course, that the intruder left the area hours ago, but it was still a chance.

No-one could be seen around the lake when Yaroslav carefully peered from behind a large spruce. But something else soon caught his attention. The fog that he saw in the morning was still there, in fact it seemed completely unchanged. Fog at midday in May? Yaroslav could not help but regard that as strange.

Further examination revealed further odd features of this wall of mist. It stretched in what was virtually a straight line from one shore of the lake to the other and beyond. It also rose into the sky to an undeterminable height, as if a wall of a mighty fortress. Yaroslav could tell little of what was beyond the fog, but the hazy features that he made out told him that something had changed.

However, Yaroslav knew that he had to at least try to follow the intruder. Even the most unnatural looking fog was not going to stop him. He drew his sword and slowly stepped forward.

OOC: Yaroslav arrives from Rose Garden "Unexpected transformation"

He would have continued running for some time, if he wasn’t poleaxed by large branch on his return. Breathing deeply he laid on the grass unable to get up. Slowly questions started coming into his mind. What happened? Who did this? Why did they cut down a forest to replace it with rose bushes? Who made the wall of mist? Was this why the forest seemed so alarmed today? Why did he panic?

With some effort Yaroslav rose to his feet. Now he was thinking clearly enough to realise that lying around was not going to bring in any answers. He had to go back and investigate to find out who is responsible for this. His initial reaction was shameful and he was going to rectify this. Picking up his sword Yaroslav stepped back into the mist.
