"Right then," Yarrow began to pedal energetically as she headed off in the direction the signpost had pointed. "Lions and tigers, and panthers..."
Looking down at Pietro with affection she added:
"Don't worry about Michael. He's alright. Seems to be making friends at the pub. Men of the cloth seem to get on with people, don't they?"
"We'll go and see him once we're done here. Lovely as you are, Pietro, I won't try and steal you from him." She reached out to scratch behind a twitching ear. "Everyone should have a cat," she stated definitively. "I should make it a rule for entry... something like that."
She shook her head at the sad lot of people who didn't have cats.
"Would you believe that old fraud Doomshadow has told my god-daughter not to trust talking cats? Cats talk better sense than people, in my opinion and poor little Rosie will be in a bad way if she doesn't learn that. You know, I almost think she might be falling for him? He's a seven foot tall lord of horrors, she's a little princess... it's a funny old world, isn't it?"

| [OOC: From the main entrance the big cats are to the northwest as the crow flies. To get there you'd either want to head north, past the flamingo lagoon, past the langurs and the apes and the aviaries, and then west past the administrative buildings and the hornbills; or else via a circuitous route leading approximately northwest via the bears, rhinos and lion-tailed macaques. Whichever way you go, though, don't expect a lovely commentary from a helpful guide, on the grounds you've teleported the last available one to a horrific hell dimension ;) Have a nice day!] |

The neatly laid out pathway opened up a bit as the tricylist pedalled past the shore of the lagoon. Slowing down Yarrow looked out across the peaceful waters to where the flamingos stood like balet dancers, each balancing on one leg.
"Look at that, Pietro. Pink ain't a natural colour for a bird, the way I figures it," she mused. "But I don't s'pect they care much about what I think." |

Pietro considered the birds. Colour was not that important to him, especially where birds were concerned. What was important was the flapping, as well as the crunch and the feel of the feathers. However, he suspected that these birds were a little big for him to attempt anything of that sort. Anyway, he'd have to get his feet wet.
On the other hand the next enclosure was much more interesting. Pietro had never encountered a monkey before, and he stared with fascination at the odd creatures with human-like faces, furry bodies and tails. They seemed to be very active, and something about the way they were jumping around obviously amused Yarrow. Pietro had to admit that they were very quick on their feet. |

The massive metal and glass birdcages of the aviaries appeared in the distance just as a flicker of annoyance crossed Yarrow's face.
"Oh dear," she muttered to herself. "Do not pass go. Do not collect two hundred pounds." |

Pietro was used to the muttering by now and was concentrating on the fluttering shapes ahead but a moment later the tricycle screetched to a halt and Yarrow reached out to stroke his glossy black head with a gentle touch. The expression on her face was full of pity and Pietro's eyes went round with alarm as he picked up on the mood of sudden gloom that seemed to have overtaken his companion.
"Oh dear," she said again. "Oh, poor Pietro. That really wasn't supposed to happen." |

Lifting him into her arms, Yarrow vanished with Pietro.
The tricycle remained behind.
