Building the Future
From PatchworkWiki
Building the Future began with a brief study of the way in which technological advances had shaped the development of society in Bridges as it rebuilt itself after an extended period of warfare. It subsequently settled into an extended examination of the future developments of both technology and society itself, the writer spending some time extolling the virtues of a future dominated by great industrial expansion, mass production and near total automation, in which the people could then express their potential for self-improvement by engaging in research and similar intellectual pursuits. It could hardly be described as objective, the writer's obvious passion for huge machines and engineering works coming through equally as clearly as it did in the facilities his company had built, and it was significantly short of actual facts as opposed to wild speculation, but it was relatively easy to read nonetheless.
