Wiki currently tested with following browsers:

Linux

Firefox 1.5.0.1 - Appears to have no problems.

Netscape 7.1 - Appears to have no problems.

Windows XP

Mozilla 1.7.12 - Appears to have no problems.

Mac

Safari 2.0.3 - Appears to have no problems

Firefox 1.0 - Appears to have no problems

Site Compatibility (version 2.1)

Details for version 2.1 of the Patchwork Universe website.

Version 1 was the framed Beta Test site. Version 2.0 was created during the Hiatus and only worked in Mozilla. Version 2.1 was written in html, css and javascript for the start of the official game, and aims for cross-browser functionality. The next paragraphs detail known bugs and issues with different browsers which are in the process of being fixed.

Mozilla/Firefox for PC/Mac

Recommended browser. No known problems.

Opera 7.54 for PC

No known problems.

Opera 6.00 for Portable Devices

A few minor problems in forums

   * Some text boxes are deformed, text still visible, but word wrapped every 5 or 6 characters.
   * Left hand menu covers sign in box. can be corrected with careful use of the "Zoom" function.

Safari for Mac

No known problems.

IE6 for PC

Some minor problems

   * Drop down menus don't function
   * Drop down menus can't be seen in forum area
   * Spacing between left hand menu elements is too wide
   * Text of second level drop down menus is too small
   * Content box is about 20px too low
   * Forums are wider than browser window
   * Map pngs don't display correctly

IE5.2 for Mac

Some minor problems, although drop downs do work

   * Forum log-in/log-out box which should be floating at top right in forum area is entire width of browser and runs over masthead header image
   * Spacing between left hand menu elements is too wide
   * Text of second level drop down menus is too small
   * Content box is about 20px too low
   * Map pngs don't display correctly

IE5 for PC

Some minor problems which make the display inattractive and inhibit some forum functionality

   * 'My forum functions' box does not appear at all
   * Drop down menus don't function
   * Spacing, borders etc of menus and content box are wrong and overlap
   * Content box is too low
   * Map pngs don't display correctly
