Dogsend Lane

From PatchworkWiki

A pretty country lane, running north/south, lined with rowan trees, bordered on each side by fields, with a small copse of woodland, surrounding a millpond. A mile and a half down the lane, a wooden signpost reads "Oxfnord, 3 Miles".

Swallows wheel overhead, in a constant dip and dance.

The mill is small building, built from wood; pretty in a run-down kind of way, where Bill Bushman makes his home. The millwheel is no longer functional, and the pond is begining to stagnate.

- Time does not appear to flow the same way in Dogsend lane. It is always summer, a hot, July day, with a soft wind blowing from the east. It appears to be afternoon. Night, unless specified otherwise, does not fall; and the sun hangs in a sky swept by soft white clouds.

- Timepieces, if carried into the area, have perculiar results.

Inhabitants

  • William 'Bill' Bushman, baker and english gent.
  • Tibbs, an elderly bluegreen parrot. Bill bought Tibbs in a petshop in London and they have lived some time together.
  • Numerous swallows, who wheel overhead.
  • Raynard, a common fox, who lives in the wooded copse surrounding the millpond.
