Though it may be termed different things in different patches, the vast majority of patches have a dominant language that is at least similar (if not identical) to the 'English' language of the various 'Earth's (as found in Museum, Empire City and Maypole Hill, for example). Even among those where this is not the case it is often possible for the language to be rapidly learned (see Hive and Leviathan).
