HMS Justice

Amidst the rich blue of the Pacific Ocean sits the HMS Justice, a handsome fifth-rate frigate, carrying 48 guns and crew of 282 naval officers, with the addition of 46 marines. It is a self-contained world of wood, ropes salt and water; where life is lived according to a strict routine, measured by the sandglass and marked by the ringing of the bell. From a distance, sailors can be seen moving easily through the rigging, occasionally accompanied by a small shaggy greenish-gray creature:­ Lethargy, Ship’s Sloth, acquired on a recent stop in Rio de Janeiro.
