Magister Sulian

Sulian, called 'Suli' by his friends, was one of Snark Sinistre's apprentices in Dark Towers. At age 11, he met Abigail and went travelling with her, along with fellow apprentices Vivi and Tal. Suli has coffee coloured skin and short-cropped black springy hair. His eyes are dark and when first encountered he was short for his age.

Adventures with Abigail

Suli travelled as one of Abigail's group for some time and had many adventures, including a confrontation with Lady Doomshadow in the patch now known as Hub.

While in Limn Knoll he traded some string to Yarrow for a plain white box. This enabled the children to communicate with what they believed to be the spirit of Mustardseed. The box later vanished but Abigail gave Suli a black feather which was given to them by Mustardseed's spirit.

Suli vanished during a Dungeon Crawl in a battle at the Dark Grove, while attempting to return Jonestown to its normal state. His companions suspected he had been taken by Justice Paine to Bridges along with Jessamin Jones and vowed to rescue them both.

Although it took Abigail and her friends about a week to reach Bridges and their exploration of the patch led them to Ariel, a ten-year-old living on High Island. During their conversation Ariel revealed that Sulian was her father's name and her mother was called Mina - short for Jessamin. It transpired that the missing children had grown to adulthood in Bridges and become citizens of its society.

Life in Bridges

Taking the name Sulian Battlement, Suli spent his younger life as a pupil of one of the charity schools in Bridges. Later he developed a blending of magical and scientific theory known as 'elemental physics' in Bridges and invented the 'elemental ring'. He married Jessamin Jones and they later had a child, Ariel.
