Orkney

From PatchworkWiki

An island blasted by storms and topped with a mighty castle.

Orkney, also known as Lothian, is made up of seventy or so islands, exact agreement as to the total number is difficult as many are little more than skerries - small uninhabited islets. Of these islands, only sixteen are inhabited.

The patch is centred on the largest of this islands, sometimes called Hrossey or Pomona. It has a rocky coast, and a small harbour and a lot of storm-tossed sea.

Here is Orkney Castle, the abode of Sir Aggravayne. King Lot and Queen Morgause ruled Orkney from this castle but both have since perished and the rightful heir (Gawaine) spends little time here, so Aggravayne has the castle mostly to himself. His brother Gareth never visits, his brother Mordred is likewise occupied far away at the court of Camelot.

However, in residence are several ladies, sisters of half-sisters of Sir Aggravayne's. They are the Ladies Cundrie, Itonje, Soredamor and Elaine. However they keep mostly to the women's hall.
