Speeding

From PatchworkWiki

This is a consultation document, please use the talk page to discuss how best to express and evolve the speeding rate of patchwork.

Patchwork players are asked for the following time commitment:

Players should aim to log on to the game website at least every other day. If a player takes longer than three days to respond to a plot thread that requires their action, they will receive a warning message from the GM team. Further delays may result in suspended access or removal from the game.

Movement through patches, responses to actions and various parts of the game movement are built around this posting rate. In practice players have varying speeds of posting which include:

  • several posts a day
  • at least one post a day
  • posts at least every three days
  • posts once a week or slower

Speed isn't everything. But it is desirable to match your posting speed to other players in your threads. Some patches such as Jonestown are high speed. However a lot of action happens in different places and some threads may be slower speed than others.

Threads involving more than three players tend to slow down as people wait for others to post. However, in established alliances threads move fast since characters in agreement about their direction and purpose may have made ooc agreements to post for each other. See alliances.
