Territory

From PatchworkWiki

The Territory has the appearance of a peaceful North American town, circa 1950. It is completely and immaculately clean.

The grass in the parks is cut. The lights work and so does the plumbing. People who go to the Territory to visit sleep in hotel rooms that are as clean as if room service has just left. Each block has a small store on one corner, and there is food in that store and it's always fresh. A cat sits on the counter and watches as you go in, choose what you need and leave.

There are no humans living in the Territory, although some do visit. There are just a hell of a lot of cats. Some live there all year round, some just for a few months. They chase things, roll around in the sun, sleep on top of things and underneath things and generally have a fantastic time.

The Territory is walled and the only entrance is through a main gate that opens on the eastern side. This is a huge iron affair that opens eerily as you approach and then shuts silently after you. One the other side is the Path, a wide cobbled street that leads into the heart of the Territory. The Path has streetlights all along it, old-fashioned lantern types that spread pools of yellow light along the way.

Only people who love cats can visit the Territory. If you don't love cats they simply will not let you in.
