Description
Toon Town is a small cartoon town, surrounded by cartoon countryside, an odd mixture of mountains, canyons, bridges, forests and rivers. The town is also a mixture, containing many different styles and periods of building. The exact nature of the buildings varies, but there's always a large structure of some sort in the middle of the town.
A word needs to be said about Toon Town's inhabitants, the Toons. Most of them are animals, or anthropomorphised machines, and their primary occupation seems to be trying to kill one another in ingenious ways. They drop anvils off cliffs onto one another, eat parts of one another, and chase one another up and down mountains, through rabbit holes, and around houses. None of these activities seem to cause any of them harm: they simply pick themselves up, put themselves back together if necessary, and get on with the next game.
Physical geography in Toon Town doesn't always follow the normal rules (rivers can run uphill, for example, and objects do not necessarily drop at the speeds you would expect). Colours here are all flat and bright.
Current appearance
Many of the buildings in Toon Town are currently tree-houses, connected by an array of ladders, walkways, bridges and rope-swings.
The big house in the centre of the town currently takes the form of a collection of particularly large structures suspended from trees that are noticably taller than the ones throughout the rest of the town. Unlike the other tree-houses, there is only one way up to the big house: a rope ladder that rises into the centre of a tree-house, which then links to the other parts of the big house via walkways and bridges. (Think the Ewok village from Return of the Jedi, but designed by a hyperactive ten year old.)
Characters
Abigail
Abigail is a cartoon of a short ten year old girl. She wears various brightly coloured T shirts and black, multi-pocketed trousers, from which she can produce all manner of objects which shouldn't technically fit. She wears a baseball cap backwards over her long hair.
Other characters
Various cartoon rabbits, pigs, cats, dogs, birds, mice, etc. Assorted anthropomorphised cartoon machines.
Apprentices
Vivi, Suli and Tal are former wizard's apprentices (from Dark Towers) aged between eleven and thirteen. Toon Town is their current nominal home, but they are more usually to be found adventuring with Abigail.
They usually wear Toon clothes, but they themselves are only slightly Toonified.
The Toon Train
The Toon Train is a small excitable steam train with two carriages and a goods van. It runs on rails up and down the countryside, and enjoys blowing its whistle and making shapes out of the steam from its funnel. The railway runs all the way up to the town where there's an open air platform and a timetable board.
The train can travel all over the patch, although stops are subject to the engine's own whimsy. It can also travel to other patches with a station by way of the Big Scary Tunnel. The train is always a little uncertain about entering the tunnel because journeying to other patches means that it loses some of its toonyness.
